Eric Meyer, CSW, LCADC
Therapist
Eric has been an employee of The Morton Center since August 2022. He obtained his Bachelor’s in Social Work (BSW) in 2020 and completed his Master of Social Work program at Spalding University in June 2023, specializing in clinical social work and addiction counseling. He is now a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) and certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy for treating trauma and emotional challenges. In addition to his role as a therapist, Eric helps support The Morton Center’s Resource Center department, ensuring clients have access to essential services and tools for their recovery journey.
Eric went to treatment himself in 2012 and has found a home at The Morton Center, where he gives back by sharing his experience and offering support to others. His role includes providing guidance to clients, helping them navigate the recovery process, familiarizing them with terminology, educating them on available programs and resources, and emphasizing how structure and support can foster long-term recovery.
Eric believes that instilling hope in everyone who walks through the doors of The Morton Center is essential to making a lasting impact. He brings energy and a motivational approach to his work, helping clients recognize their potential and embrace the opportunity for a new way of life.
In his free time, Eric enjoys spending time with his family, playing video games such as Pokémon and Fortnite, and exercising.
