Mackenzie Gilliland

Mackenzie graduated from Missouri Western State University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Art therapy and minor in Childhood Studies. Mackenzie then moved to Kentucky in 2017 and graduated in 2020 from the University of Louisville with a Master’s in Counseling and Personnel Services (Art Therapy).  While completing internships, Mackenzie gained a passion for working with substance use disorders and young adults. After graduating Mackenzie was hired and gained experience at a community mental health agency working with a variety of ages and populations for three years. Mackenzie began working at The Morton Center in 2023 and passion lies in working with trauma, co-existing disorders, young adults, the LGBTQ+ community, and utilizing art therapy to assist clients in processing emotions. Mackenzie recognizes the bravery and vulnerability of beginning therapy and is excited to walk beside clients as they work through their challenges.

Mackenzie enjoys spending time with her dog and two cats, listening to music, and spending time outdoors.
