
Kara Newton, Director of Clinical Services
Kara earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Louisiana State University in 2022. Her practicum and internship experiences focused on mental health and underserved populations, and her family history of addiction shaped a strong commitment to supporting individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
Kara is licensed as a Professional Clinical Counselor in Kentucky, Ohio, and Virginia and joined The Morton Center in October 2026 as Director of Clinical Services. In this role, she supports the delivery of high-quality clinical care, clinical decision-making, curriculum development, and the implementation of policies and standards related to chart compliance and client safety.
Outside of work, Kara enjoys spending time with her partner, three children, and pets. She values creativity and connection and enjoys playing volleyball, skating, arts and crafts, attending local art festivals, and spending time with friends.
