
Anna Kate McWhorter
Recovery Engagement Specialist
Anna Kate McWhorter is a Louisville native and proud alum of The Morton Center. With six years of experience in the mental health and substance use recovery field, their background includes work in residential treatment, PHP, outpatient in-home addiction services, program development, case management, client intake, and data analysis. Throughout these roles, Anna Kate has had the privilege of walking alongside clients from diverse backgrounds, building meaningful connections, and supporting recovery in many forms.
Anna Kate earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Berea College, with minors in Environmental Studies and Social Justice. They became certified as a Peer Support Specialist in 2020, a role that deepened their commitment to creating spaces for personal and collective recovery.
Guided by both professional expertise and personal lived experience, Anna Kate approaches this work with curiosity, compassion, and an understanding of how privilege, systemic barriers, and hope intersect in the recovery process. Outside of work, they enjoy exploring the outdoors and creating art through painting and printmaking.
