Amy Horner, CSW, TCADC
Therapist
Amy graduated from Spalding University with her master’s degree in social work in June 2023. While completing internships with other local non-profits and government programs, Amy developed a passion for working with clients experiencing homelessness and addiction.
Amy joined The Morton Center in February 2024 as the Targeted Case Manager, where she gained valuable experience working in a clinical setting. In October 2024, she transitioned to her current role as a therapist. Amy is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based treatment for trauma, and incorporates this approach into her work. She is particularly passionate about working with clients who have dual diagnoses and complex trauma. Her long-term goals include obtaining her LCSW and LCADC licenses.
Amy is dedicated to advocating for her clients, excelling at identifying barriers, and taking on the challenge of breaking through those barriers to help clients achieve their goals and reach success. Amy believes there is no greater reward than to make a fundamental difference in someone’s life and the first steps to that are unconditional kindness and acceptance.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys crafts, reading, being in the sunshine, helping others, listening to music, spending time with her husband and friends, organizing, learning new skills, and playing with her Yorkie, Max.
